{Baby L} Newborn | Gwinnett County Portrait Photographer

This little guy was a dream for a photographer- he was a natural poser and was super quiet! I could not get over how he just fell into place when I put him down. Big sister had me laughing the entire session and you could see how much she adored her baby brother!
I love the light and airiness of this session. Very simple and clean, just how a newborn shoot should be!

{The S Family} | Gwinnett County Portrait Photographer

This is my second time shooting for this beautiful family. I photographed their gorgeous little redhead back when she was just 4 months old. I was honored that they contacted me to capture the whole brood this time around, including their newest addition!
Can't wait to do it again soon, guys!

{The R Family} | Gwinnett County Portrait Photographer

This Mommy and I have known each other since our elementary school days! They were also the winners of our Fall costume contest. We decided to wait until their sweet baby was about 6 months old- one of my favorite ages to shoot!
Thanks for hanging out with me on such a gorgeous Spring evening!

{The Barnett Family} | Gwinnett County Portrait Photographer

I got to spend more time with one of my favorite families! Christina is a very good friend and fellow photog and her sweet family never ceases to provide me with a good time! We met on a chilly November evening, and even with the threat of rain, the light was GORGEOUS!
Thanks guys for being amazing yet again!

{The Fading Summer Days} | Gwinnett County Portrait Photographer

I know it is Fall, but here in Georgia, summer lasts pretty much until the middle of October. Our nights may get chilly, but our days are sunshiny and warm! I am trying to take more and more candid shots of my boys on random days so last night, I grabbed my camera, and snuck in a few as the sun was setting. I cannot say enough how much I ADORE this light! It will be gone soon, so I am taking it in as much as humanly possible!

{Add a Little ZING!} | Gwinnett County Portrait Photographer

I've been so busy with our little sister over at Urban Trend Seniors that this blog has been looking a bit neglected. Just so you know that I'm still chuggin', here's a little lighting post for ya!

This is just simple shots of my baby (well, not so much anymore!) on his first day of pre-k. The first one was shot under our front porch, the other out in the beautiful morning sun. Take a look at the difference in the feeling of the photos:

Not bad, but is lacking that "oomph". And, the background isn't very interesting- just some dirty concrete that makes the photo look a bit flat.

Now here, we stepped a few feet away from the porch and I turned his back to the sun. You may need to play with placement, but be sure there is no sun spilling onto the face. I even got a little flare over there on the left! The sun separates him from the backdrop giving the photo dimension.

Try experimenting with light, especially in the early morning and about an hour before sunset and see the difference in your own photos!

{A Sweet Little Trio} | Gwinnett County Portrait Photographer

This past weekend was a beauty and not only did I get to spend it in one of my favorite places, but I got to hang out with my precious nephew! I headed over to downtown Athens and was greeted with a big, toothy smile! This boy was in such a good mood that eventually turned silly and made for some great memories for mom and dad! Thanks for a wonderful afternoon guys!

Someone had fun exploring Gigi's old wagon...
