What I Am Not- I am not a high-volume studio who mass produces photos using the same boring poses and backdrops. I am not a "sit-and-stay" photographer who stands in one place while you fake "cheese!" for the camera. I am "no-fuss", laid back, and use little props. I am not about snapping a few photos and having them be forgotten on a disc somewhere; this defeats the purpose of choosing custom photography in the first place! I am also not a photographer that caters only to those with fat wallets, but do believe that you are investing in memories and should plan accordingly. Payment plans are also available at certain price points.
See below for more detailed info about different types of sessions. For now, here's the gist of things:
These sessions focus on "in the moment" shots, but if your little ball of energy allows, may also include some traditional posing. I love to shoot outdoors! Doing this creates a timeless portrait in a natural setting and keeps the focus on the most important thing in the photograph- you! Kids are encouraged to be themselves and play! I get down, run around with them, and just generally act like a nut.
Studio sessions are available for newborns and kids under one.
{Newborns} approx. 3 hours
The best time to shoot is between 5 and 10 days old. In order to do this, it's best to schedule your session while you are still pregnant. We will pencil in your due date, then you call me when the big day arrives and we can nail down a date.
These sessions are kept as relaxed as possible. My goal is to keep your baby safe and comfortable. We all know that newbies have schedules all their own, and we work around it. We take plenty of breaks for feeding, swaddling, and just plain cuddling! It’s best to book your appointment during naps/feedings or when you know your baby will soon succumb to that oh so desired "milk coma". Sleeping babies are best, but don't worry if your little bundle is determined not to miss a thing. We work with what he gives us! Clothing and props should be kept simple. Great ideas include a cute diaper cover, a nude babe, knit hats, headbands for girls, and soft blankets.
{The Process}
-You contact me, book your session, read this section and then head on over to Useful Info.
-We discuss location, wardrobe, talk about what you want out of the session, and about how your 3 year old refuses to have his picture taken.
-We meet for your custom session, have some fun, and get some amazing images (even a few of your youngest actually smiling).
- 2 weeks later, we meet and you check out your proofing gallery filled with 40 beautiful images and sample wall galleries containing your images. You think to yourself, "How will I ever be able to choose?"
-I help you decide between #12 and #26. We discuss options and what images would look best where. After much deliberation, we place your order.
-For about 2 weeks, you daydream about how wonderful your walls will look adorned with customized art pieces instead of finger smudges and $5 art from the bargain bin.
-You receive your order and since everything comes ready to hang, you grab a hammer and a few nails, and begin assembling your wall gallery.
-You call me and let me know that you have already hung every piece. You realize that you must plan a dinner party so that you can show off your new artwork to your friends.
-Your friends stare in awe at the amazing images in front of them and demand they have a gorgeous gallery of their family on their walls too.
*Please feel free to contact me if you have an ideas about your session. I love brainstorming ideas with clients! If you have a specific idea in mind, please don't hesitate to share it with me! While I have my personal style of shooting, I am always open to collaboration- they're customized for you, right?*
Now for the Fine Print...(don't worry, nothing too scary here!)
Hugghins Photography is a custom photography studio. Our main focus is on capturing images to be used as art displays in you home. Please keep these few things in mind before scheduling your session:
Before your Session
- Sessions fees are due at time of booking.
- Your paid fee holds your date for you. Since I only shoot one session per day, I set aside that entire day for you and prepare for your session. I value not only your time, but mine as well. If for some reason you cannot make your session time, kindly give 48 hours notice and your fee can be transferred to a new date. If no notice is given, you will be asked to pay another session fee to book another date.
After your Session-
- Approx. 10-14 days after your session, we will set up a time and day for your ordering appointment. Here, you will see all of your images, fully edited, in my comfy home office. I will be there to show you all of the wonderful product options and help you choose what will look best in your home! Payment is due at the ordering session.
- All prices are non-negotiable and order must be paid in full (unless otherwise agreed upon through payment plan) before being sent to print.
Delayed payment= delayed joy fulfillment.
