{30 Years of Love} My Mom and Dad

So, us photographers always seem to know the perfect gift for every occassion, so when my parents' anniversary started creeping up on the calendar, I knew exactly what I was going to get them. I was so excited since they'd never had their portraits done, but I think they had their reservations. Dad is always up for anything, but mom is like me. We prefer to be behind the camera capturing the action! She was a good sport and may I say, having an awesome hair day!

I love you guys so much and I hope this is one small way I can thank you for all you've done for us, and for putting up with our crazy antics! (The best is yet to come!) Thanks for showing me that 30 years of marriage is full of happiness and love!

{Wall Inspiration} Art For Your Home

So, I get people who ask me all the time- "What is 'photo art'?" Our minds are trained to think of photography on the small scale- especially when it comes to photos of our families. Well, custom photographers are on a mission to change that!

"Photo Art" refers to using photographs as art pieces in your home. Paintings, framed landscapes, and abstracts come as 20x30, so why not portraits? 8x10's and 11x14's don't hold a candle to a beautiful 16x24 over your living room couch. Or why not try a gallery grouping?

{Beach Bums} | Gwinnett County Photographer

If you're like me, you look forward to an annual beach trip every summer. I love creating these memories for my children and try to capture them at every visit. Since I shoot portraits for a living, I sometimes find it difficult to be creative while trying to relax and forget about work for a week. I decided a few years ago that I wouldn't focus on getting posed photographs of my boys, but rather document them as they play and interact with the sand and surf. I am less stressed about getting "the shot" and they get to enjoy their time too instead of always posing for Mommy! Next time you and your family get away, I suggest trying to capture them as they are- you will enjoy your R&R a lot more!

You may remember Kati and Matthew's gorgeous farm wedding from back in May. The artists behind the beautiful flower arrangements contacted me about featuring some of my flower shots on their blog.
